Compilation of Events Highlights | Fashion Atelier Certificate Programme (FACP) 2021/22 Savile Row Academy in HK
Organised by the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association (HKFDA), the FACP 2021/22 has now come to a close. With the successful completion of the FACP Master Courses in July 2022, a total of 57 elites from various sectors of the Hong Kong fashion industry, including fashion designers, founders of fashion brands, fashion academia, novice designers, professional pattern cutters and bespoke tailors, graduated successfully from both the Menswear & Womenswear Courses. Thus, enriching their skills and expertise to new heights.

All the Course participants are grateful for the high-quality Savile Row bespoke training which has upgraded and developed their skills and expertise. The dynamic sharing of skills and technical know-how amongst International Master and local professionals during the FACP has also strengthened the cohesion within the fashion industry while reflecting the Savile Row bespoke artisan spirit.

Moreover, two pre-event Master Talks, two post-event FACP Ambassador Forums, an Opening Ceremony and a Certificate Award Ceremony were held to promote the Master Programme and further advocate sophisticated technical knowhow for the Hong Kong fashion industry. All of the noteworthy highlights of the FACP events are included in the video.
HKFDA appreciates the support from CreateHK and all supporting organisations which marks the huge success of all events of the first FACP. We also aspires to engage more future advance professional Master Programmes hoping to be further supported by the Hong Kong SAR Government in order to raise the Hong Kong fashion design industry to a new height.
Engaging Highlights & Participants' Perspectives on London Savile Row Academy in Hong Kong
The Fashion Atelier Certificate Programme (FACP) “London Savile Row Academy in Hong Kong” has been successfully completed.
In fact, the organiser and the participants appreciate these types of sophisticated Master Programmes for the international perspectives. They aspire to engage more advance Master Programmes supported by the Hong Kong SAR Government to upgrade and revitalise the development of the fashion design industry.
Alumni from diverse sectors shared their insights and perspectives in the video interview. Dilys Yiu and Ivy Chung, who work for a global fashion brand, treasured the newly acquired scientific calculation which helps to improve the shape and fit of their products. Local fashion brand designers Kevin Ho, Arto Wong, Yeung Chin and Stephen Chong expressed their appreciation for learning about Savile Row bespoke techniques thus enhancing their brands. Zoe Chan, Instructor on Pattern Drafting of HKDI, is looking forward to share the technical know-how she gained from the FACP with her students.

The FACP Ambassador Forum 2 - “From Classic to Contemporary: The Finesse of Enhanced Cutting” was successfully held on 22nd September.
PRGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS:
- A highlight video of six FACP Alumni sharing their insights and perspectives on the Master Programme.
- The Savile Row canvas-shaping techniques on traditional jacket making was also presented during the Forum.
- Live showcase by six FACP Alumni presenting their newly procreated outfits of contemporary techniques on Menswear/Womenswear. The new creations are the amalgamation of their own technical flair combined with the knowledge acquired from the Master Programmes to achieve the enhanced cutting & shaping effect.

All Fashion Atelier Certificate Programme (FACP) participants have successfully completed the Menswear and the Womenswear Pattern Drafting, Cutting, Fitting & Tailoring courses of Savile Row Academy in Hong Kong. The first Ambassador Forum cum Certificate Awards Ceremony was held successfully on 8th July 2022 in the Hong Kong Design Institute. Fashion design practitioners, academics, students & alumnus attended the forum.

Exciting Highlights on Course Completion | London Savile Row Academy in HK
All Fashion Atelier Certificate Programme (FACP) participants have successfully completed the Menswear and the Womenswear Pattern Drafting, Cutting, Fitting & Tailoring courses of Savile Row Academy in Hong Kong. Hereafter, they were awarded the Completion Certificates during the Ambassador Forum 1 cum Certificate Awards Ceremony on July 8 2022.
During the Forum, the audience was inspired by the Course participants cum Ambassadors, selected from different sectors of the fashion industry, by sharing their perspectives and experiences from the Course(s) taken.
Course Commencement Ceremony
On 10th June 2022, the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association held a Course Commencement Ceremony for the Fashion Atelier Certificate Programme (FACP), officiated by Mr. Victor Tsang, Head of Create Hong Kong; Mr. Brian Davidson, CMG, Consul General, British Consulate General; Professor Andrew Ramroop OBE, Principal of Savile Row Academy; and Dr. Ong Lay Lian, Principal of HKDI.
It’s truly been our pleasure to have the support and participation from HK Government; British Consulate; and the fashion industry at the ceremony. We hope that our guests have enjoyed the inspiring speeches of our officiating guests, together with the video interview with Prof. Andrew Ramroop OBE, bringing fresh perspectives and insights to the local fashion practitioners. The Master Talk 2: “Dialogue with Professor Andrew Ramroop OBE: Tailor Your Future with Artisan Spirit”, was held successfully on 4th April 2022 via Facebook livestream.
World renowned bespoke master tailor from London Savile Row, Prof. Andrew Ramroop OBE, Principal of the Savile Row Academy, and Mr. Roger Kearey, Head Cutter of Maurice Sedwell Bespoke Ltd., shared their experience, expertise and insights with international audience. In addition, three Hong Kong fashion designers and academia shared their thoughts and expectations for the upcoming Fashion Atelier Certificate Programme.

The Master Talk 1, themed on “London Savile Row Academy in Hong Kong”, was held successfully on 14th December 2021 in both physical and online (hybrid) modes. Fashion design practitioners, academics, students & alumni attended the talk held by Professor Andrew Ramroop OBE, Principal of the London Savile Row Academy, who shared his inspirations and insights on the essence of bespoke tailoring and the adoption of digital technology in the fashion creation process.
